At a glance
- 4,272 job listings in 90 days (4,272 of the 4,277 Tanqeeb reported)
- 95.4% labelled Capital Governorate (90.5% without the two boards that label everything "Capital")
- 9.7% come from teacher recruiters and schools, and Education is the second-biggest category
- 8.4% come from US government contractors running base support: EMTs, firefighters, aircraft mechanics
- 5.1% show a salary; LinkedIn shows none of its 406
- 247 of LinkedIn's 406 listings come from a single job page
How the data was collected
Tanqeeb is a job aggregator with a site per country. Kuwait had 4,277 listings in the last 90 days, under the 10,000-result cap, so one search was enough: 214 result pages, none failed. The scraper (an Apify Actor) then removes duplicates by listing ID: 4,272 listings.
Tanqeeb's terms don't prohibit this, its robots.txt allows the pages used, and no personal data was kept.
1. Teachers, US base contractors and hotels
US defense and base-support contractors
Three groups stand out:
| Group | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Hotels (by company name) | 643 | 15.1% |
| Teacher recruiters and schools | 416 | 9.7% |
| US government contractors (V2X, Amentum, KBR and others) | 360 | 8.4% |
Teachers. Atlas Teachers, a teacher recruitment firm, posted 216 listings, and Edvectus, another, 55. With schools and universities (American International University: 88) they make up nearly 1 listing in 10. The most common title in the whole country is "Primary Teacher" (34), followed by maths, science, art and ICT teachers.
US base contractors. V2X (167), Amentum (99) and KBR (34) are US government contractors. Their listings are base-support roles: EMT (22), firefighter, aircraft services technician, KC-130J aircraft mechanic, logistics analyst. They are the clearest sign in this series of a foreign military presence shaping a job market.
Hotels. Marriott (244 listings) is the second-biggest poster. But this group includes at least 101 listings for hotels outside Kuwait, Hilton Luxor in Egypt (92) and Four Seasons Riyadh (9), that GulfTalent labels "Kuwait". Without them, hotels are about 12.7% of listings.
The single biggest poster is not an employer at all: "KUWAIT JOBS HERE", a LinkedIn page that reposts other employers' jobs (drivers, delivery riders, secretaries, cooks), with 247 listings, all on September 9 and 10.
2. The Capital label
| Governorate | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Capital Governorate | 4,077 | 95.4% |
| Hawalli | 52 | 1.2% |
| Al Jahra | 51 | 1.2% |
| Al Ahmadi | 50 | 1.2% |
| Al Farwaniyah | 17 | 0.4% |
| Mubarak Al-Kabeer | 11 | 0.3% |
GulfTalent and Bayt label (almost) every listing "Capital Governorate". Without them the Capital is still 90.5%. But on the 61 listings Tanqeeb posts itself, with exact locations, the Capital is only 30%: Hawalli, Al Farwaniyah and the rest share the other 70%. The real geography of Kuwait's jobs is much more spread out than the board labels suggest.
3. Boards, and two bulk imports
| Board | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Bayt | 1,675 | 39.2% |
| Naukri Gulf | 1,433 | 33.5% |
| GulfTalent | 689 | 16.1% |
| 406 | 9.5% | |
| Everything else | 69 | 1.6% |
Two days stand out from a median of 36 new listings a day: July 27, when GulfTalent added 456 at once, and September 9-10, when the "KUWAIT JOBS HERE" page posted 247 on LinkedIn. Both stay in the totals and are left out of the weekday averages.
4. The salary gap
| Board | Listings | With a salary | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bayt | 1,675 | 112 | 6.7% |
| Naukri Gulf | 1,433 | 62 | 4.3% |
| GulfTalent | 689 | 7 | 1.0% |
| 406 | 0 | 0% |
216 listings (5.1%) include a salary. The 112 with a salary in Kuwaiti dinars have a median advertised midpoint of KWD 750 (10% below KWD 215, 10% above KWD 3,500), a wide range from drivers and helpers to senior engineers. Placeholder values such as "KWD 1 - 1" are left out; 101 salaries were in US dollars, UAE dirhams or other currencies.
5. What the jobs look like
| Category | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | 524 | 12.3% |
| Education & Training | 496 | 11.6% |
| Information Technology | 422 | 9.9% |
| Engineering | 323 | 7.6% |
| Administration | 266 | 6.2% |
| Research & Development | 211 | 4.9% |
| Healthcare & Medical | 197 | 4.6% |
| Hospitality & Tourism | 179 | 4.2% |
- 99.2% full-time, 96.6% on-site; remote or hybrid 3.4%.
- 99.6% of titles in English. 59 listings (1.4%) are for residents of Kuwait only.
- Category labels need care again: GulfTalent files 122 hotel jobs under "Information Technology", as it did in Jordan.
6. When listings appear
- 24Sun
- 42Mon
- 39Tue
- 42Wed
- 46Thu
- 55Fri
- 13Sat
The weekend is Friday and Saturday, yet Friday is the busiest day (55 new listings on average). As in Jordan, that is Naukri Gulf's schedule (Monday to Friday, never at weekends), not Kuwait's. Saturday is the quietest (13).

Shares can be compared across windows; raw counts and repeats cannot (a longer window gives a role more chances to be reposted). Kuwait's hotel share includes at least 101 listings for hotels abroad. The Saudi hotel figure counts brand names only.
What this data does not show
- Listings on one aggregator, not every job in Kuwait, and not hires.
- 24.9% look like repeats (same title, company and governorate); counting each once leaves 3,210 distinct roles.
- GulfTalent labels some jobs abroad as Kuwait, and files some hotel jobs under IT. Both are kept as published and flagged here.
- One listing can cover several positions. A missing salary does not mean a job is unpaid.
