How the data was collected
Tanqeeb is a job aggregator with a site per country. Oman had 3,529 listings in the last 90 days, so one search was enough: 177 result pages, none failed. The scraper (an Apify Actor) then removes duplicates by listing ID: 3,526 listings. Tanqeeb's terms don't prohibit this, its robots.txt allows the pages used, and no personal data was kept.
Unlike Jordan and Kuwait, Oman's data has no bulk imports: the busiest day had 108 new listings against a median of 41.
1. 273 jobs that are not in Oman
Start with the biggest data problem, because it changes the employer ranking. Safran (220 listings) and Chanel (52) look like two of Oman's top employers. They are not: their titles are in French ("Stage – Analyse thermogravimétrique F/H", "CDD – Acheteur sous-traitance – Parfums Beauté") and they are jobs in France. Bayt carries them labelled "Muscat", and they make up 26% of everything Bayt shows for Oman.
They stay in the totals below, as published, but are flagged wherever they matter. Without them, engineering is still the top category (17.2%).
2. Hotels, oil and gas, and Omanisation
Tawteen (government Omanisation platform)
| Group | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Hotels (by company name) | 694 | 19.7% |
| Marriott brands (Marriott, St. Regis, Courtyard, W and others) | 576 | 16.3% |
| Tawteen (government Omanisation platform) | 256 | 7.3% |
| Oman Investment Authority | 192 | 5.4% |
Hotels. Marriott is the biggest poster (395 under its own name, 576 with its brands). Counting each repeated role once, hotels are 12.8% of distinct roles.
Tawteen. Tawteen is the Ministry of Labour's digital employment platform, built to get Omani nationals hired in the private sector; since February 2026, companies in Oman must register on it (EY, Oman Observer). Its 256 listings cover everything from accountants and sales executives to university lecturers. Another 57 listings say "Omani" in the title (usually "Omani National"), most of them at Marriott hotels: St. Regis 16, Courtyard 12.
The state and energy. The Oman Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund, posted 192 listings, many of them senior roles (CEO, COO, chief commercial officer). Worley (97), OQ (39) and Oman Refinery (30) carry the oil, gas and refining side.
3. Muscat, by label
| Governorate | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Muscat | 3,434 | 97.4% |
| Al Batinah North | 35 | 1.0% |
| Dhofar | 18 | 0.5% |
| Al Batinah South | 11 | 0.3% |
| Al Wusta | 10 | 0.3% |
GulfTalent and Bayt label every listing Muscat; without them Muscat is still 95.6%, because Naukri Gulf, the biggest board here, puts 96% of its listings there too.
4. Boards: Naukri Gulf leads, no LinkedIn
| Board | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Naukri Gulf | 2,024 | 57.4% |
| Bayt | 1,047 | 29.7% |
| GulfTalent | 418 | 11.9% |
| Everything else | 37 | 1.0% |
Like Jordan and Lebanon, Oman has no LinkedIn listings on Tanqeeb.
5. The salary gap
| Board | Listings | With a salary | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Naukri Gulf | 2,024 | 120 | 5.9% |
| Bayt | 1,047 | 25 | 2.4% |
| GulfTalent | 418 | 7 | 1.7% |
167 listings (4.7%) include a salary. The 99 with a salary in Omani rials have a median advertised midpoint of OMR 500 (10% below OMR 200, 10% above OMR 4,500); 68 more were in US dollars or other currencies. Too few to say what jobs in Oman pay.
6. What the jobs look like
| Category | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering | 645 | 18.3% |
| Information Technology | 324 | 9.2% |
| Sales | 292 | 8.3% |
| Logistics, Supply Chain & Procurement | 228 | 6.5% |
| Research & Development | 208 | 5.9% |
| Administration | 207 | 5.9% |
| Accounting, Finance & Banking | 178 | 5.0% |
| Healthcare & Medical | 158 | 4.5% |
- 99.6% full-time, 98% on-site; remote or hybrid 2%.
- No titles are in Arabic: almost all English, plus the French ones.
- GulfTalent again files hotel jobs under "Information Technology" (123 here).
7. When listings appear
- 15Sun
- 54Mon
- 49Tue
- 46Wed
- 41Thu
- 48Fri
- 13Sat
Monday is the busiest day (54 new listings on average), Saturday the quietest (13). Friday, a weekend day, stays busy (48) because Naukri Gulf posts Monday to Friday.

Shares can be compared across windows; raw counts and repeats cannot. Oman's totals include 273 jobs in France; Kuwait's hotel share includes at least 101 hotels abroad.
What this data does not show
- Listings on one aggregator, not every job in Oman, and not hires.
- 17.7% look like repeats; counting each once leaves 2,903 distinct roles.
- 273 listings are jobs in France labelled Oman (kept as published, flagged here).
- One listing can cover several positions. A missing salary does not mean a job is unpaid.
