How the data was collected
Tanqeeb is a job aggregator with a site per country. It shows at most 10,000 results per search, and Qatar had 7,286 listings in the last 30 days, so one search was enough: 365 result pages, none failed. The scraper (an Apify Actor) then removes duplicates by listing ID. That reached 7,279 listings.
Tanqeeb's terms don't prohibit this, its robots.txt allows the pages used, and no personal data was kept: some listing cards include recruiter names, emails or phone numbers, and the scraper skips those fields. Everything was read from Tanqeeb's own public pages, not from the boards the listings originally came from.
1. Hotels post about one in three listings
Recruitment and staffing agencies
Counting hotels by company name (Marriott brands, Accor, Hilton, IHG, Four Seasons, Rosewood and others, or "Hotel" / "Resort" in the name) gives 2,311 listings, 31.7%. For comparison, hotels posted 14.6% of listings in the UAE and 8.5% in Egypt.
The biggest single poster was The Ritz-Carlton (510 listings), then St. Regis (298), Qatar Airways (260), Accor (204) and Le Méridien (201). Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis and Le Méridien all belong to Marriott: together with JW Marriott, Autograph Collection, Sheraton, Westin and the group's other brands, Marriott posted 1,427 listings, 19.6% of the whole market.
One caution: hotels re-post the same role many times. The Ritz-Carlton listed "F&B Service Expert" 90 times in 30 days. Counting each title at each company once, hotels still account for 22% of distinct roles: more than one in five.
The other cluster is recruitment agencies. Brunel, VAM Systems, Airswift, NES Global Talent and listings posted as "Client of" an agency add up to 522 listings (7.2%), with the employer's name often hidden.
2. Doha is almost the whole market
| Municipality | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Doha | 7,173 | 98.5% |
| Al Wakrah | 38 | 0.5% |
| Al Khor | 34 | 0.5% |
| Al Rayyan | 28 | 0.4% |
| Ash-Shamal | 3 | 0.0% |
| Al Daayen | 1 | 0.0% |
Every other municipality together has 1.5%. Municipality labels are kept as published; Al Rayyan borders Doha, so some listings labelled "Doha" may be in Al Rayyan.
3. Three boards supply 99% of listings
LinkedIn is the source of 55.7% of the listings, Bayt 27.2% and Naukri Gulf 16.4%. Everything else (Tanqeeb's own listings, GulfTalent, Akhtaboot) is under 1%.
4. The salary gap
Only 148 listings (2%) include a salary, the lowest of the four countries so far:
| Board | Listings | With a salary | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Naukri Gulf | 1,195 | 99 | 8.3% |
| Bayt | 1,980 | 25 | 1.3% |
| 4,052 | 0 | 0% |
116 listings give a salary in Qatari riyals, with a median advertised midpoint of QAR 6,000 (mostly monthly; 10% below QAR 1,750, 10% above QAR 16,500). That is too few listings, and mostly from Naukri Gulf, to say what jobs in Qatar pay. Another 32 salaries were in US dollars or other currencies.
5. What the jobs look like
| Category | Listings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Hospitality & Tourism | 1,144 | 15.7% |
| Information Technology | 786 | 10.8% |
| Other | 747 | 10.3% |
| Engineering | 645 | 8.9% |
| Administration | 422 | 5.8% |
| Sales | 418 | 5.7% |
| Accounting, Finance & Banking | 410 | 5.6% |
| Manufacturing & Production | 359 | 4.9% |
- 95.3% full-time and 98.8% on-site. Only 1.1% are remote or hybrid.
- Every job title is in English.
- The most common titles are hotel roles: F&B Service Expert, Hotel Cleanliness Expert, Guest Experience Expert, Demi Chef de Partie.
- 71 listings (1%) are aimed at Qatari nationals: the title says "Qatari" or "Qatarization". Qatarization can apply to other roles too; this only counts the ones that say so.
6. When listings appear
- 214Sun
- 307Mon
- 203Tue
- 374Wed
- 261Thu
- 205Fri
- 75Sat
Wednesday is the busiest day for new listings (374 on average), then Monday (307). Saturday is the quietest by far (75); Friday, the other weekend day, gets 205. Wednesday includes October 14, the biggest single day (564 new listings); without it, Wednesday still leads at 327.
Qatar, Egypt, UAE and Saudi Arabia side by side
| Qatar | Egypt | UAE | Saudi Arabia | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Listings in 30 days | 7,279 | 20,133 | 21,706 | 17,941 |
| Top city share | Doha 98.5% | Cairo 74.1% | Dubai 43.0% | Riyadh 35.5% |
| Listings from hotels | 31.7% | 8.5% | 14.6% | 11.7% |
| Listings with a salary | 2.0% | 8.8% | 12.8% | 7.3% |
| LinkedIn listings with a salary | 0 of 4,052 | 7 of 8,880 | 5 of 7,693 | 0 of 7,319 |
| Remote or hybrid | 1.1% | 2.6% | 3.5% | 2.8% |
| Repeats | 23.5% | 13.2% | 9.2% | 10.1% |
The Saudi hotel figure counts brand names only, without the "Hotel" / "Resort" words used for the other three, so it is slightly low.
Qatar is the smallest market so far and the most hotel-heavy: a third of its listings come from hotels, and almost none of them say what they pay.
What this data does not show
- These are listings on one aggregator, not every job in Qatar, and not hires.
- About 23.5% look like repeats: the same title, company and municipality posted more than once. Most are hotel roles.
- One listing can cover several positions.
- A missing salary does not mean a job is unpaid; the employer just didn't publish it.
- Municipality and category are Tanqeeb's labels, kept as published. Name variants of one company are merged (for example "The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C." and "The Ritz-Carlton").
